Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif’s investment in Nykaa jumps 10X with IPO

Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif are the Celebrity investors in Nykaa. The actors recently saw their shareholding valued at nearly 10X of their initial investment after company’s public market debut.

Alia had invested Rs 4.95 crore in FSN E-Commerce Ventures (parent company of Nykaa) in July 2020. Her shareholding in the company jumped to be worth Rs 54 crore on 10 November’s closing price of Rs 2,206.7 per share.

Katrina Kaif had entered a joint venture with the company in 2018 to set up Nykaa-KK Beauty, retailing the cosmetic brand Kay Beauty. She had invested Rs 2.04 crore in the company. Her shares were worth Rs 22 crore at 10 November’s closing price.

This is for the second time of Indian celebrity investors realising returns from the public listing of internet stocks on the bourses. Earlier Amitabh Bachhan had gained over 46-fold from his investment in search platform, JustDial, in 2013.

FSN E-Commerce which debuted on the stock markets on 10 November saw its market cap double to $13 billion. The jump made Founder Falguni Nayar enter the Indian billionaire’s club with a net worth of $6.5 billion.
