Film ‘Koozhangal (Pebbles)’ is India’s official entry to Oscars 2022. Starring Chellapandi and Karuththadaiyaan the film is directed by debutant Tamil film director PS Vinothraj. ‘Koozhangal will represent India in the International Feature Film category at the 94th Academy Awards, which will be held on March 27, 2022 in Los Angeles.
The film beat 13 other films, including ‘Sardar Udham’, ‘Sherni’, ‘Mandela’, ‘Toofan’ and ‘Kaagaz’ to make the cut.
Produced by Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan under the Rowdy Pictures banner ‘Koozhangal’ was also screened at the 50th International Film Festival Rotterdam held in Netherlands in February 2021. It won the Tiger Award at the festival.
The film tells the story of a young boy who follows his alcoholic father to bring back his mother who has runaway due to abuse.

The film get a theatrical release soon.
