On Thursday, April 14, Alia Bhatt married Ranbir Kapoor in a white-themed wedding dress that she looked stunning in.
While many praised her for her unconventional choices, some compared her wedding dress to Kangana Ranaut’s saree, which she chose to wear to her brother’s wedding in 2020.
Both Alia’s wedding dress as well as Kangana’s saree have been designed by famous celebrities designer Sabyasachi.
Netizens managed to spot resemblances between both the outfits of both actors and left feedback on a post on instagram from 2020 wherein Kangana’s look for her brother Akshat’s wedding could be seen.
“@aliaabhatt’s wedding attire was once worn by @kanganaranaut years back!!” wrote one user. “So Alia’s wedding saree is inspired by this?” said another.
Kangana has repetitively attacked Alia, referring to her as a product of nepotism. She’s also been referred to as Karan Johar’s puppet.
Kangana had previously stated that being compared to Alia was “embarrassing” and that her performance in Gully Boy was “mediocre.
“Kangana Ranaut awhile back criticised her film Gangubai Kathiawadi, calling Alia a “daddy’s angel” and a “rom-com bimbo.”
She also stated that the casting was incorrect. In Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film, Alia played a brothel owner.
On Thursday (14 April), Ranbir and Alia married in a small wedding ceremony at the former’s Bandra home Vastu.
