5 refreshing summer drinks to make and enjoy at home

When summer heat strikes all we desire is an ice-cooled drink in our hand. Most of us go for store-bought beverages which are usually loaded with added sugars and artificial flavors. This summer we are sharing recipes to this amazing collection of 5 refreshing summer drinks so that you can enjoy your favorite cooling drinks but with less sugar and much more natural flavors.

Pineapple Lemonade

This pineapple lemonade has the perfect combination of tangy, slightly-sweet, tropical goodness. It is a fun twist on traditional lemonade.

INGREDIENTS:

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup lemon juice

1 cup pineapple juice

2 tablespoons lime juice

DIRECTIONS:

First make simple syrup. Combine sugar and 1 cup water in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved; let cool.

In a large pitcher, mix together simple syrup, lemon juice, pineapple juice, lime juice and 5 cups water. Place in the refrigerator until chilled.

Serve over ice.

Watermelon Slush

There is a reason Harry Styles wrote an entire song titled “Watermelon Sugar” Watermelons are blessing in summers. A refreshing pitcher of watermelon slush is all you need to beat the summer heat. Plus, this recipe comes together with just 3 ingredients, a blender and 5 minutes. That’s it!

All you need to do is slice up your watermelon, put it in a blender with some ice and sugar, and press start. You can even add a little bit of freshly squeezed lime juice for a bit of tanginess.

Sparkling Cherry Lemonade

We promise that this article is about summer drinks and not a promotion for Harry Style’s album, “Fine Line” but hey! You can enjoy these drinks while listening to his music too works for us! 

INGREDIENTS:

Cherries, pitted

3/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

2/3 cup sugar

4 cups sparkling water

DIRECTIONS:

To make the cherry syrup, combine cherries, lemon juice and sugar in blender until smooth. Place in the refrigerator until chilled.

Serve over ice and sparkling water.

Strawberry Pineapple mimosa

Strawberry Pineapple mimosa is a refreshing fun drink to enjoy during the brunch hour. With this recipe here, you can easily make mimosas right at home with just 5 minutes of preparation. 

INGREDIENTS:

1 1/2 cups orange juice

1 1/2 cups pineapple juice

1 (750 mL) bottle sparkling white wine, chilled

1/2 cup strawberries, thinly sliced

DIRECTIONS:

Mix orange and pineapple juice in a pitcher

Pour orange-pineapple mixture into champagne flutes until half full. Fill glasses with white wine.

Serve immediately, garnished with strawberries, if desired.

Aam Panna

Made with our summer favourite king of fruits- mango this summer drink will keep you refreshed and energized through sunny days.

INGREDIENTS:

500 gm green mangoes

1/2 cup sugar

2 tsp salt

2 tsp black rock salt

2 tsp roasted and powdered cumin seeds

2 Tbsp finely chopped mint leaves

2 cups water

DIRECTIONS:

Boil the mangoes till they become soft inside, and the skin gets dis-coloured.

When cool enough to handle, remove the skin and squeeze the pulp out of the mangoes.

Mix all the ingredients together, blend and add 2 cups of water.

Put some ice in the glasses and pour the panna over it.
