Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra Group, expressed awe at the massive turnout of fans at Mumbai’s Marine Drive during Team India’s T20 World Cup victory parade. Thousands gathered to celebrate the team’s triumphant return after clinching the title in Barbados.
In response to a viral image of the crowded Marine Drive, Mahindra proposed renaming the iconic stretch, famously known as the Queen’s Necklace, to “Mumbai’s Jaadu Ki Jhappi.” His suggestion garnered positive reactions, including from India batter Suryakumar Yadav, who played a pivotal role in the final match against South Africa.
The Indian team’s homecoming was delayed due to adverse weather conditions but culminated in a grand reception, including a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi before heading to Mumbai. The enthusiastic reception at Marine Drive reflected the nation’s fervor and pride in Team India’s historic victory.
