Netizens express their anger and grief over increasing rate of crime against women as Faye D’souza puts light on the topic

brought attention to horrific rape crimes which have been reported across India over the last few days. Faye shared the news about rape crimes from Mumbai, Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. The details of these incidents will leave you shaken up.

With the most recent one came from Mumbai, India. Reportedly a 32-year-old woman was brutally assaulted and raped inside a parked tempo car in Mumbai’s suburbs of Sakinaka, Andheri. She was admitted at a city hospital where she eventually passed away. The accused, a 45-year-old man has reportedly been arrested and even confessed to the crime.

Another incident is from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh where body of a 24-year-old national level athlete was found in gravel on train tracks. Family says she was raped and suffered grave injuries.

The third incident came from Chhattisgarh where a woman was abducted, gang raped and murdered by two men. The two suspects told the police that they killed her because she fought too much.

Several celebrities reacted to Faye D’souza’s post. Kalki Koechlin commented, “Is there a way to make the accused the headline of such crimes? How old are they? What do they do? Do they have a record of past crimes? These are people who live amongst us, we need to bring them out into plain view.”

 Alia Bhatt reposted the post on her Instagram Story and wrote, “WTF is going on? This is infuriating.” Kareena was also heartbroken over the news, while Taapsee wrote, “News today… every day.. goes like this. Coz she fought too much. That’s the prize she paid for fighting her life.”

Many people demanded that the identity of the accused is revealed as they must be held accountable for their heinous crimes. Meanwhile most of the public demanded strict laws to punish these criminals.
