On 24 March, Priyanka Chopra was among one of the hosts of the pre-Oscar celebration in Beverly Hills.
In a black saree, she not only made a fashion statement, but she also delivered an amazing speech.
At the party, which was organised to highlight South Asian excellence in film, the actress spoke about her journey, meeting Nick Jonas, and the presence of South Asian celebrities in Hollywood.
On Instagram, motivational speaker Jay Shetty posted a video of Priyanka’s speech. Addressing the gathering, Priyanka said:
“Each and everyone of you are here today because you are brilliant in what you do.”
Addressing the event, Priyanka said, “Each and everyone of you are here today because you are brilliant in what you do. I came ten years ago and started seeking work in America.”
She mentioned how she was one of the few brown people involved at the event. “We travelled out there and did meet everyone else. But today, I am and not somebody else.”
“Today, I stand amongst peer group, amongst colleagues, amongst South Asian excellence. I have goosebumps, I am emotional, it makes me very proud,” Priyanka added.
Dropping hints at how she and her husband Nick Jonas are staying busy after the arrival of their baby girl, Priyanka stated:
“Haven’t been stepping out anywhere but then had to come here tonight to just say this that I’m highly proud to be rubbing shoulders with every one of you, to be encouraging you.”
